Banning High School participated in the 2nd Special Olympics hosted by Beaumont High School at the Beaumont High School Sports Complex on Friday April 27, 2018 from 8:30 a.m. to noon.

Banning High School, Beaumont High School, San Jacinto High School, Yucaipa High School along with 6 of their respective feeder middle schools partnered with Special Olympics Southern California to continue this exemplary event for the San Gorgonio Pass Area for the second consecutive year.

We love our special education students! They are an integral part of the pulse and culture of our school and district. Special Olympics Southern California is an incredible organization that we joined forces with to continue to bring this outstanding program to our community.

More than 240 Special Olympic student athletes from all four high schools and the 6 middle schools, including Nicolet Middle School, participated in several track and field events including: standing and running long jump, softball ball throw, 100 M sprint and 50M wheelchair race.

Our BHS athletes spend a great deal of time training and preparing for this event. They really look forward to competing, having fun, and sharing a camaraderie as well as the spirit of the games with their friends and classmates. We thank them for demonstrating that they are truly Bronco Strong!! 🌠🐎

Shout out to our Bronco Cheer Squad and ASB Leadership who were present to encourage and cheer our athletes to victory. Thank you to our Head of Delegation Rosalind Carreras for her leadership, dedication, organization, and tireless efforts. We appreciate you! Thank you to all the teachers and staff that volunteered to help out throughout the process including with practices and on the day of the games to supervise, cheer on, and support our athletes. It's an experience unlike any other with a great feeling that we will all cherish for a lifetime.
