The goal of the School Attendance Review Board (SARB) is to increase student attendance in school. Throughout the school year, the deputy district attorney meets with parents, students, and school officials to address issues of truancy and excessive absences. If, after numerous contacts and mediations, a child continues to be truant, the parent(s) will be prosecuted for violations of the California Education Code and/or California State Penal Code. For more information regarding SARB, please review the 2016-2017 Banning High School Parent/Student Handbook. Please remember, Attendance Does Matter!
