The goal of the School Attendance Review Board (SARB) is to increase student attendance in school. Throughout the school year, the deputy district attorney meets with parents, students, and school officials to address issues of truancy and excessive absences. If, after numerous contacts and mediations, a child continues to be truant, the parent(s) will be prosecuted for violations of the California Education Code and/or California State Penal Code. For more information regarding SARB, please review the 2017-2018 Banning High School Parent/Student Handbook. Please remember, Attendance Does Matter!
All students in grade 11 take the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress known as the CAASPP. The CAASPP is an online exam that tests a students basic skills in math and language arts. There are three parts administered to grade 11 students at Banning High School during the months of April and May.
