Dear Students, Parents, Staff, and Community:
This year marks an exciting time for new beginnings and fresh starts. It is my distinct honor and privilege to serve the great students and staff of this historic institution.I have been fortunate to work in the Banning Unified School District as a teacher and as an administrator at both the middle and high school level. My experience has shown me that it takes a collaborative and united team to help all students reach their maximum potential. As a school community, we will all strive to motivate and guide each of our students to pursue current and future success. Our students are our best investment. They deserve only the very best. We will all accept the task of building “our house” which is our dear Ol’ Banning High.
We will fully implement Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS). Expectations of students and staff around campus and in classrooms will focus on building positive relational capacity as well as positive interactions and conduct in all locations and conditions. Remember: Be Safe, Be Respectful, and Be Responsible! Students must feel at ease in a school where the focus is on learning in a setting geared toward student success.
I am challenging all to ask yourself these four questions:
- What is your passion?
- What is your purpose?
- What are your priorities?
- What ignites your inner spark?
Now is the time to have answers to these questions, explore the answers, and challenge yourself to develop priorities, goals, and take action. Now is the time to reflect and give thought to what ignites your inner spark. Now is the time!
Now is the time to "build our house!" The structure is in place. It will be up to all of us to be the "interior designers and decorators." Before us we have a grand opportunity to reinvent and re-energize our school and its programs while at the same time restore Bronco Pride and continue and create traditions. It is critical to establish and sustain a culture of high expectations. As a school community, we will all strive to motivate and guide each of our students to pursue current and future success. We can build our house to be a magnificent showcase for all to enjoy. Our house, Banning High School, can and will be a striking structure and pillar of the community for years to come. It will take all of us, working together, to ensure that our house is successfully built. Please join me in making Banning High School our house, a house that we can all be proud of.
Sincerely and respectfully,
Banning High School
