Banning High School students, staff and families followed large crowds and vibrant décor to the Broncos Performing Arts Center for an Honor Roll Assembly on April 7, celebrating students' academic excellence for the first semester of the school year.
Guests received a warm welcome by Principal Matthew Valdivia and Associated Student Body President Jordon Amis and were entertained by a powerful student orchestra performance prior to the recognitions of excellence.
Student honorees cheered as they weaved through the auditorium’s aisles to accept a certificate from the principal, a medal from the class presidents and a round of applause from the community to honor their exceptional grade point averages (GPA). The recognitions included the Principal’s List of Distinction GPA of 3.5 to 3.74, Distinguished Scholars GPA of 4.0 and above and a perfect attendance award.
After the ceremony, the festivities concluded with an Open House where students led their parents on campus tours to meet with teachers and showcase their achievements for the 2021-22 school year.
“At Banning High School, the Home of the Broncos, our students show up each day prepared and ready to achieve their full potential,” Valdivia said. “Today, it was a distinct privilege and honor to have the opportunity to recognize our students' hard work and dedication. Congratulations and kudos to all of our students, teachers, and staff on a successful first semester. We look forward to fostering future accomplishments and finishing the school year Bronco Strong!”
