Dear Parents/Guardians, Recently you should have received an email communication with the subject Banning Unified School District is inviting you to claim your Rooms account. This email is to inform you of the new communication platform for Banning USD. Your Rooms account will allow you to communicate with your child’s teachers. If you have not already done so, please check your email for a message labeled Banning Unified School District is inviting you to claim your Rooms account and activate your account. Below is a sample of the email that was sent. If you need assistance activating your account, you can reach out to Anna Torres at Education Services (951) 922-0218 or you can come by this week during the office hours listed below. Hello Parents and Guardians, My name is Andres Keymolent and I am the Orchestra Director at Banning Unified School District. I hope you are all doing well and ready for orchestra to start. First thing, I do apologize for not having some clear information. I have been trying to figure our new website and app to send messages and have been unsuccessful. I think we have finally figured out the communications on the app for me. Orchestra will begin next week, the week of the 25th. The Week of 09/25/2023 will have all four schools begin orchestra. The schedule will be: Monday: Hemmerling at 10am Tuesday: Hoffer at 10am Thursday: Central at 10am Friday: Cabazon at 10am This will be the schedule of the elementary schools throughout the school year. All students should bring their instruments at their respective days. Students should bring all materials for class each week at their respective days. Please note, if the students do not have instruments, they are still encouraged to attend. We have three vendors for students and parents/guardians to rent instruments. They are Beaumont Music Center, Nick Rail, and Bertrand’s Music. Thank you all for your patients and for understanding. I am looking forward to begin orchestra with everyone. Hi Parents/Guardians: We would like to inform you that we are now using the Banning Unified School District app for teachers, parents and students to communicate. In the next few days, you should be receiving an invitation in your email to set up a guardian account. In the invitation it will provide step by step instructions to create an account. Meet Jose Sandoval, Teacher at Banning High School. His feature was submitted by his colleague Svetlana Abdulkarim. She says, " Jose Sandoval is a physics teacher with the Academy of Business. He does a lot of community service that benefits the high school and Banning. I've also seen him cleaning up our campus with 2 students. I enjoy working with him because he cares about our students and is supportive of their connections to the community." 💚💚 #BanningUSD

During the Board Meeting last night, the Cadet Corps students did a wonderful job leading the pledge of allegiance and presenting the colors at the start of the meeting. We had student presentations from Camila Samaniego, Cabazon Elementary School, Rose Yang, Nicolet Middle School, Daniel Martinez Jr., Coombs Alternative Education and Chloe Dabucon Banning High School. Each student did a great job updating the community on current events on their campuses. #BanningUSD

Stagecoach Days Parade this Weekend! Way Out West, Where the Wind Blows Free. September 9th at 10am, come on out and join the Stagecoach Days Association and the City of Banning to celebrate the 66th annual Stagecoach Days Parade! The parade begins on Ramsey at San Gorgonio Ave and continues on Ramsey to 12th Street

Meet Maria Ramirez, Teacher at Florida Street Discovery Center. She is a proud mom of 2, one of which currently attends Florida Street Discovery Center State Preschool. Fun fact: Her family loves to rock climb, they have 12 pets! 3 dogs, 6 chickens, and 3 goats. Maria says she chooses #BanningUSD because "I love the grade I teach and making sure each child feels comfortable, safe, and happy to learn." 💚💚
